How do Digital Cameras work? |
Compared to a conventional film camera, a Digital Camera focuses the light onto an image sensor called a Charge Coupled Device (CCD). A collection of light sensitive photosites produce an electric charge when struck by light - and this is the CCD. These electric charges are converted into numerical form that can be stored in the memory (or memory stick/card) on your Digital Camera. Therefore, you are able to see your image dislayed completely on your Digital Camera, send your image to a computer or print your image directly using a printer.
