Olympus has developed a powerful new software solution called [ib] to seamlessly connect images (pictures and movies) and people to provide innovative photo surfing capabilities that will turn your camera into a mobile photo album. Using Olympus' [ib] solution you can retouch and perfect images, as well as organise and create your own personal collections and categorise by person, event, location, date or theme with ease. The software cleverly classifies the pictures according to the recording date automatically during upload to your PC and has the capability to recognise up to 16 faces as subjects to classify accordingly.
NEW Photo surfing
With the [ib] software and 2GB of built-in memory on the Mju Tough 8010, the new photo surfing feature allows you to download your favourite pictures from your PC back to your camera and search them quickly by date, person or location creating your very own portable photo album. By recording location information for a classified event or by person or location, you can also easily find the pictures you want to print or upload to your favourite social media site or share with friends and family wherever you are on your travels.

Culminating from experience gained in three years and 10 previous Tough cameras, we've optimised every aspect of this camera's construction to maximise its resistance to water pressure, so you can safely use the Mju Tough 8010 for underwater shooting without underwater dive housing equipment. From diving and snorkelling to surfing and waterskiing or other wet places, the Mju Tough 8000's superior waterproofing makes it the only choice to capture everything life has to offer - even when things get a little damp.
Shockproof to heights of 2 metres
Designed and tested to Military standards by the Olympus Research and Development team, you'll have peace of mind your Mju Tough 8010 will withstand the rough and tumble of everyday life. All thanks to its foldable optical lens unit and floating electric circuit boards, the incorporation of shock-absorbing material inside the camera, combined with a shock-absorbing mechanism to protect the lens unit from impacts.
Crushproof to 100kg
The body of the Mju Tough 8010 is made from surface-coated rigid stainless steel and features a zinc die-cast battery compartment. The outer finish is resistant to damage and the overall structure is able to withstand a load as high as 100 kg being placed on it, so it can easily resist damage if subjected to heavy weight.
Snowproof to -10°C
Ordinary digital cameras are not usually guaranteed to function at temperatures below 0°C, but all internal electrical components of the Mju Tough 8010 are guaranteed to operate at temperatures as low as -10°C. This assures reliable shooting performance in cold conditions.
